Hands are one of the most expressive parts of a pose and certainly crucial in any figure drawing. Magic Poser offers the easiest and fastest hand posing experience in the market. You can pose hand in two ways: by applying hand presets and by using the Finger Controls mode.
Apply hand presets
You can finish your hand pose in seconds by using our hand presets library! We have already created over 50 hand presets for you. To learn more about applying preset poses, please refer to our Preset Poses tutorial.
Enter Finger Controls mode
You can make any hand poses you want in our Finger Controls mode. To enter Finger Controls mode:
- Tap on the wrist control point of the character.
- Tap on the "Hand" option from the action menu that shows up.
- You will only see the hand control points show up on the character. This indicates that you are in Finger Controls mode.
Exit Finger Controls mode
After you finish posing the hand, tap on the "x" in the top right corner of the Finger Controls menu to exit Finger Controls mode. You will see the hand control points disappear and all the other control points on the character reappear.
Select fingers
- Tap on the name of the finger in the top bar of the Finger Controls menu.
- You will see control points show up on the finger you selected.
Curl fingers using the curl slider
Curling fingers is one of the most common things you need to do with hand poses. You can easily curl the entire finger at once by using our curl slider. Try this out and you will love it!
- From the Finger Controls menu, select the finger you want to curl.
- Drag on the curl slider to curl the finger to the amount you want.
Drag to pose the fingers
You can also drag on the finger control points just like any other control points.
Rotate finger joints
You can get even finer control by turning on the "Rotate joint" option, allowing you to rotate every finger joint in any way that is humanly possible.
- From the Finger Controls menu, turn on the "Rotate joint" toggle.
- Tap on a finger joint that you want to rotate. You will see the rotation circles show up.
- You can rotate the finger joint by dragging on these rotation circles just like any other joint.
