Select an object
To select an object in 3D, simply tap on the object. You will see an orange outline around the object when it is selected. In the following example the selection switches between the character and the cube:
Deselect an object
You can deselect an object in two ways:
- Tap anywhere in the empty space in the 3D scene will deselect everything.
- Tap again on a selected object will deselect it.
Focus on an object
Double-tap is another gesture that will come in handy when working with large scenes. Double-tapping on an object will make the camera focus on that object. In other words, the camera rotation in the scene will now be centered around that object.
Action menu
You may have noticed that the bottom menu changes when you select between the character and the cube. The bottom menu is called an "action menu". It includes all the actions you can take on the currently selected object. For example, this is the action menu for a character:
This is the action menu for a prop (like a cube):
You can take many of the same actions on the character and the prop, such as move, rotate and scale. However, the preset action (applying a preset pose) and customize action (change the character's body shape, add hair and clothing) only apply to the character, not a prop!
When the action menu is longer than the width of your screen, you can scroll left and right to see all the actions.
You will learn how to apply different actions to different objects in your scene in later sections of the user guide.
